Great Ouse

To me the Ouse that that runs through York is the iconic river of that name. The Great Ouse may reach the sea but it lacks the oomph and presence of the Yorkshire river to my mind.

  1. Are you saying you've been to the metropolis that is Lynn today? You lucky girl!

  2. Jane, what were you doing in Kings Lynn today apart from looking at the mouth of the Ouse, that is?

  5. Are we talking subtefuge and misinformation? :) Mexico would make a wonderful honeymoon destination, LOL. :)))

OTOH, if my overactive imagination has misled me I'll be so disappointed there is no romance in the air. :(((

  6. Romance Rachel...Whatever makes you think that. I think Jane went to the metropolis of Kings Lynn to get some bracing sea air after the night before.

Plus to look at the historic Georgian architecture, as there are some very interesting structures in and around Lynn.

  8. "Plus to look at the historic Georgian architecture" - Charlotte, I'm surprised at you, you shouldn't refer to Bex like that, it's not nice!

    Eeore, really...

Jane, have you decided who you're having for bridesmaids?

  9. what? what have I said?

Anyway there are numerous reasons why she might have gone to Lynn... to see the witches brick, the connon ball in Nelson street that cromwell fired through the window of st margaret's church, captain vancouver's statue, or even trying to see the ghost of the white lady in the red mount.... any of these would be better excuses than 'window shopping in morrisons'....

what worries me more is that the border controls have been so relaxed as to let a cambridgeshire person cross the border.... it's not goods for the bloodline letting outsiders in....lol

  10. Lynn is, after all, as romantic a place as you could wish for *cough*. Who needs a Bahamian sunset when you can stand by the mudflats of the Purfleet as the crimson sun sinks behind the canning factories of West Lynn. *sigh* Perfection!

  11. Ah yes.... and what could round of that perfect date better than sitting on the swings on the Loke road wreck nibbling a bag of chips from Kerry's.....

  12. Eeore I'm a Londoner by birth so I think I confused them at the borders with my cheeky cockney sparra ways.
