I've consciously avoided the Olympics this time. I know Phelps won a bunch of jewelry, but pitiful as it is, my ignorance of the commercials run on the event is the only weapon I have against the greedy IOC and their willingness to let the games not only go to a totalitarian country, but to do absolutely nothing when that totalitarian regime breaks the promises it made to get the games.
I'm so mad I honestly hope there will never be another Olympics.
Chixulub - Yep I agree, but the IOC have a history for doing things like this and they've never let filthy lucre not get in the way of things like princples. But there will be another Olympics, the next in Britian and we've not exactly in possession of a gleaming score card morality wise even if we aren't totalitarian.
and if you agree with certain comedians, 25% of Australia's medals count as ours as well.

i can't believe quite how well we're getting on - it's all very impressive.
ReplyDeleteThis is surely proof that the Olympics are getting easier. ;)
