A show of solidarity is still worthwhile though because China, India and Russia all have links and influence and can be influenced themselves. Probably not by a small bunch of bloggers but a big bunch of bloggers can help raise the issue in the news, just think how much journalists love to cover interweb stories, it can all be done from the safety of the office and cheaply too.

I was talking to a colleague from Burma the other day. He was saying he dare ask if they are in any danger when he calls home as the phones are tapped.
ReplyDeleteIn the 50's Burma was one of the richest nations in asia, now it is one of the poorest. All due to the corruption of the army leadership.
Very sad.
Its not much, but I've blogged about it too, and signed one of the e-petitions calling for the UN Secretary General to get involved.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather was awarded the Burma Star for his part in defending Burma during World War 2. If he was alive today I'm sure he'd be furious.
